I Hate When This Happens

It seems like every 4 or 5 months I get into a real funk when it comes to this blog. I get, what equates to writers block. I just can’t come up with any good topics to write about. I am a streaky writer. If you watch basketball you’ll know what I mean. There are some shooters in basketball who appear to be just lights out for awhile, but then can’t make a basket to save their life. I think I’m like that when it comes to blogging — hot and cold.

Unfortunately, the last week and a half, I’m in one of the coldest spells I’ve had in a while. I’m just not generating any really good posts in my head. Combine that with the fact I’ve been on the road at customer sites the past two weeks and inspiration is not jumpin’ off the page.

One of the things I have noticed over the past few years is this blog has morphed a little. I went back and looked at some of my old stuff and I noticed I wasn’t afraid to write about non-sales stuff. I was a bit more broad when I started the blog. In the last two years, it feels like I’ve been much more sales and sales leadership focused.  I’ve written over 1200 blog posts in the past 4 plus years of this blog. I’ve covered every topic you could imagine. That makes it hard to keep it fresh. So, I’m thinking of expanding again, be a bit more broad. Maybe tackle some peripheral topics. Maybe that will help keep me from getting in these funks.

I’d be curious to what this community thinks? Have you noticed a change in posts over the years? Do you like when I go broad or stay more specific.

As always, I’m curious to what you think.
