I’m reading Give and Take – A Revolutionary Approach to Success, it’s a good book so far. I’m about a 3rd of the way through it.
The book is written by Adam Grant and explores how giving and giving even more drives success.
It’s a fun read, telling powerful stories supported by fascinating studies. My favorite part so far however isn’t a story or the result of a study. It’s the principle of Adam Rifkin, one of the subjects in the book. It’s what he calls the 5 minute favor.
The 5 Minute Favor
You should be willing to do something that will take five minutes or less for anybody.-Adam Rifkin
This resonates with me. I’d like to think I already do this, but I’m going to be conscience of it now and make sure I do it.
Imagine if everyone operated from this philosophy?
Would you give 5 minutes to anyone who asks!
