Use Images to Amp Up Your Social Recruiting Efforts

I come from a design background; went to school for architecture practiced for three years.  I’m a visual person.  But you don’t have to be a designer to know that in today’s world of social media, a picture really is worth a thousand words.  The stats prove it; posts/tweets with images get more attention.  Not only does it capture people, it also works to create a brand.  Here are some previous posts about branding- both personal and employer that are meant to help candidates and employers alike.

Untitled-design-2   Linked-in is a powerful sourcing tool for recruiters and employer/ personal branding should be leveraged thoughtfully and fully to maximize your hiring efforts.  As a candidate, don’t just use Linked-in as an online resume, use it to showcase your accomplishments and work.  Your Linked-in page showcases your professional self.  Brand yourself appropriately.  You can add video and images, take advantage of this and stand professionally. As recruiters, employer branding is just as important.  Keep your branding presence consistent as you go from Company Page to Personal page.  This can be done in several places via your personal Linked-in page. 1.  The newest feature is the profile header image.  This is the background image you can add to your profile picture.  Very similar, visually, to Facebook and Twitter’s background image.  Image size for Linked-in image headers are 1400×425. linkedin   2.  Showcase pages for companies.  Showcase pages are Linked-in pages that companies can use to showcase products or services.  They are an extension of your company page; so if there’s a specific area of your business that requires a showcase, do it here.  You can create posts and updates on your Showcase page, just like your company page.  Like your profile page, you can add a background image as well as a main profile image.  Be sure to carry your brand through your Company Page, Showcase pages, and personal profiles and solidify your company brand.  Consistency is key.  Check out and follow our A Sales Guy Recruiting Showcase Page below.  For all of you Hootsuite users, you can now post updates to Showcase Pages via Hootsuite. showcase   3.  Add images, files, videos, links, to your profile to showcase your professional background, accomplishments, and interests.  Carry through to your Company Page.
